Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is a perennial herb and is found throughout Europe. Oregano is also known as forest tea, shepherd’s basil, oregano grass, Vitosha tea, blackthorn, savory. The herb has been known since the distant past for its wide range of benefits to improve the condition of the body. The ancient Greek physician Hippocrates used oregano as an antiseptic to treat respiratory and digestive diseases. Oregano essential oil is obtained from the leaves and stems by steam distillation. It has a sharp herbal aroma. It contains thymol and carvacrol which are compounds that are used for their antibacterial and antifungal properties. Methods of use for food purposes.1n or 2 drops twice a day on a lump of sugar (teaspoon of honey) or dissolved in 100-150 ml water for up to 10 days
For culinary purposes: 1 drop to your favourite meat dishes, dressing, salad.The oil should not be taken internally by small children and pregnant women!
Storage conditions: in a dark and cool place, protected from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and tightly closed!
Contraindicated for pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, individuals with individual intolerance to oregano oil.
