Rosemary – Organic Essential Oil – Food GradeEssential oils
The rosemary plant has been known since ancient times as a spice and remedy. The ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Romans considered rosemary to be sacred and used it to purify the air and prevent the spread of disease. Rosemary was used to improve memory, awaken vital energies, soothe digestive disorders, relieve muscle pain. In Greece it was considered the herb of the goddess of love Aphrodite. In the Middle Ages, lovers wore it as proof of love. The ancient Romans associated rosemary with the goddess of love Venus, adorning the statues with rosemary stalks. Folk medicine in some Western European countries recommends sleeping on a pillow filled with rosemary leaves to calm the nerves and have a good sleep. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation from the flowering tips and young twigs of the plant “Rosmarinus officinalis”. The oil has a fresh, soft, balsamic and pleasant camphor aroma and a warming effect. The oil stimulates the absorption of nutrients by the body and helps detoxify the body.
